Part Three

Old Enemies, New Friends

When Part 3 of AF's History concluded we had just had our largest pull for 3 years and dominated Damage Inc in a 2 day prep, ending with 71 people. This was a warning for both them and Reign of Terror. This warning would lead to something quite unexpected happening. DI and RoT, who had what was notoriously one of the biggest rivalries in Runescape history, would then join forces vs Ancient Fury in a bid to keep us down. Neither of them would fight us 1v1, with one always backing up the other.

Breaking RoT's Standards

At the start of the RoT and DI alliance, we obviously didn't have it easy. After getting used to 1v2s we went from strength to strength, while the clans crashing us started to have less and less impact. On the 30th of July, 2014 (after 2 months of both DI/RoT trying to kill us) we had a fight with Reign of Terror while Damage Inc crashed us. Within an hour we RoT had crumbled under the pressure and they were forced to do something more unexpected than allying with DI, they 1-itemed to try and stay in-game. At the time this was the lowest a clan could sink to, with no one having done it since 2009 (ironically also Rot and against their now allies DI). After them 1-iteming for 30 minutes they stopped and we took a deserved 1v2 Victory having embarrassed Reign of Terror beyond belief. For the next ~7 months neither DI nor RoT would legitimately fight us, running from us or 1-iteming us respectively.

The Jagex Cup Champions

Throughout our history we've always been known to have the best Quality man for man but we (admittedly) had a history of choking in tournaments and losing fights we would win any other day. Despite being the best, we lacked the victories in either Jagex Cups or RSC Tournaments to prove it. Having done some decent practice, we were confident going into it and after winning 27-0 in our first proper fight vs Damage Inc in the 30v30 category, our confidence could only go up.

By the end of the tournament we had set a record. Becoming the first clan/team in history to win the P2P full out, P2P 30v30, P2P 20v20 and P2P 10v10 categories all in the same tournament. To our surprise, we also made the finals of the 30v30 F2P/20v20 F2P, having beaten F2P clans like Divine Forces on the way.

Destroying RoT

Several months after the Jagex Cup, RoT tried to start fighting us again which lead to some good 1v1s *(Damage Inc wasn't in a crash war with us at the time [Probably due to F2P]). These fights were probably some of the best on 07 and some of our best performances, most notably when we ended RoT and SV after 30 minutes inside greater demons on even numbers. After this, the fights became less frequent, and I can't possibly think why.

*Probably the last time we weren't really in a crash war

Record Breakers - 33 hour fight

On New Years Eve of 2014, we went on a Pk trip to hunt RoT in P2P but they continued the trend of refusing to fight us and resorting to 1-iteming. What they didn't expect was for us to de-gear and 1-item them back. For the next 30 hours we 1-itemed each other until eventually, Reign of Terror logged out and stopped returning. This left AF as the victors of the longest fight in Runescape History and the winners of the first fight to last over 24 hours.

Ancient Fury vs World

After we started to dominate RoT in 1v1s (not to mention winning the longest fight in history), they had to recruit some new friends, since at this point in time Damage Inc wasn't allied with them. Their new allies were the following: Sovereign, Infliction, Valhalla, Jaja and various PvM teams (seriously). Despite this we still dominated P2P. The highlight of this was probably when RoT 1-itemed us until 1:00 AM GMT while we were fighting the rest of the alliance, got in gear once they thought we were about to end, then us forcing them back to 1-iteming and ending

Despite this domination we decided to even up the fights, so we went after the weakest clans in the anti-AF alliance. This was pretty easy, as they were clueless and RoT was never there to back-up their minions. After a couple weeks of constant hits and basic wilderness bullying, all 3 of Valhalla, Sovereign* and Infliction closed their doors.

*Re-opened shortly after as pures or something.

One Month, 100 AGS'

At this point we (as a team) were a-bit bored of Runescape, but we decided to set ourselves a non-clan/team related goal (therefore not done before and something new and enjoyable to us). Using a method of luring involving D Spears and ancient macing we set upon the task of Pking 100 Armadyl Godswords. This took us around 3 weeks, averaging about 5 a day. Overall including the other +1s we pk'd it totalled up at over 6 Billion Rsgp. It's not the most exciting thing in the world but we feel it was a pretty unique feat to accomplish.

DI Re-joins the Anti-AF Alliance

Having killed most of RoT's minion teams, they joined forces with their (ex) arch rivals, Damage Inc. Knowing this would happen due to the adventures of Joeylatte (more on this here) we were prepared. On the 23rd of October it pretty much became official when DI prepped to fight us knowing RoT (and friends) would crash. This went badly for Di, despite over 80 Rot+CT sniping us we ended Di's prep in under 2 hours. Since then we've been in a crash war and Damage Inc have not tried to fight us since.

Record Breakers V2 - 78 hour fight

A year on from the 30 hour fight (longest fight title was broken during the year by a fight between EoS and RoT [EoS won after something like 47 hours]), RoT unofficially asked us to do it again and we were down so we strolled up to Gdz in 1-item and it began. For the first portion of the fight it was us vs Rot but after ~35 hours they tapped out. Jaja jumped in since we had been going for 35 hours thinking we would break easily, not so. About ~20-25 hours later Jaja were broken and it was us vs RoT again. Despite having to effectively beat our opponents 3 times, we managed to win. After 78 hours of having Ancient Fury men in-game both RoT and Jaja finally gave up and yet again we claimed victory in the longest fight in Runescape history. A record which this time probably won't be broken.
